Hearing Loss Prevention

Play it Safe…Protect Your Hearing!

Within the ear, there are sensitive hair cells. Once damaged these cells cannot be repaired. Sudden loud noises or prolonged exposure to loud noises can cause noise-induced hearing loss.

To protect your ears, consider the option of custom molded earplugs. Constance Brown Hearing Centers offers a wide array of custom plugs like swimmers earplugs and musicians earplugs. Custom earplugs may also benefit you greatly if you also work in industry, use firearms, or ride a motorcycle.

What Can You Do to Help Prevent Hearing Loss?

Wear earplugs when using loud tools, household equipment, farm and lawn machinery, and when participating in noisy recreational activities.

Pay attention to the sounds around you and turn down the volume whenever possible.

Avoid or limit time spent in noisy sports events, rock concerts and nightclubs.

When listening to your portable audio device, if you have to raise your voice to be heard from an arm’s length away, then the volume is set at a level that will cause hearing loss.

When someone is more than an arm’s length away from you and can hear your music, then the volume is set at a level that will cause hearing loss.

Pick up a pair of FREE earplugs at either of our offices during regular business hours.
