Hearing Loss in Adults
How Hearing Loss Affects Your Life
Hearing loss interferes with communication and our ability to connect with others. Several studies have shown that uncorrected hearing loss gives rise to poorer quality of life, isolation, reduced social activity, and a feeling of being excluded, leading to higher incidence of depression.
We recommend routine hearing testing every 2 years beginning at age 45, or sooner if there is a family history or medical condition such as diabetes, heart disease, or if you are taking medications that list hearing loss or ringing in the ears as side effects.
