• Is there financial help available?

  • Constance Brown Hearing Centers is a non profit organization whose goal is to serve the needs of the hard of hearing and deaf in our community. Occasionally we have direct funds available to provide financial assistance for those who qualify. If they are not available, we will assist you in connecting with other resources as much as possible.

• Can I deduct any of my hearing-related expenses on my income tax?
  • You may be able to claim your hearing aids as a medical deduction. Contact your tax preparer for more information.

• Will my insurance cover hearing testing? Hearing aids? Batteries?
  • Some insurance companies will cover a portion of hearing aids or hearing testing. Contact your insurance company for more information. Certain insurance companies may require that you see an otolaryngologist before you can proceed with selecting hearing aids.

• If I donate an old hearing aid, can you tell me how much to say it was worth when I complete my income taxes?
  • We are precluded from giving a dollar amount for a donated hearing aid. Contact your tax preparer for specific information. If you donate a used hearing aid to the Constance Brown Centers, we will provide you with a letter that you can give to your tax consultant, stating that you have donated a hearing aid to the Centers.
